Yes, I agree Applause is trash compared to DWUW but I think the biggest bop will be Venus, I mean, Gaga sampled Sun Ra, she worked with ~10 different writes including herself and she produced the song. + she's premiering/promoting at the same time.
Pretty much every synthesizer has that 16th-note-arpeggiated bass sample. If you're gonna say Gaga copied it, so did Britney (Heaven On Earth), Robyn (Call Your Girlfriend and Dancing On My Own), etc. etc. It's just not unique enough for it to be her copying.

If I opened my DAW now and loaded a basic analog synth I could find a preset exactly like the one used in DWUW.

They changed the rules. Mirrors went #1 and it was a preorder track
