when people CMA, then the track sales will be deducted and convert into album sales.

The preorder thing is kind of annoying. I wanna know how well the song is really doing. Doesn't give a good gauge on its single potential as is. Unless it manages to have Dark Horse longevity I suppose.

it doesnt matter tho, the next promo singles are just there. i'm worried about venus because it will drop in sales really hard. same with unconditionally

I don't think they are.

Dark Horse and Walking on Air were both #1 on iTunes that week, and their sales from the pre-orders didn't seem to reflect the iTunes position. So hmm...

I imagine iTunes will revise the preorder chart policy after things like this tho. This will end up abused like crazy.

People will start putting up preorders before the lead single is released just to guarantee a #1 and large debut even if the song otherwise wouldn't do that great. And then it'll suffer a massive blow in the 2nd week.

Also, wouldn't the preorders being counted towards the chart be considered double dipping in a way? If I understand correctly, they show a sale of the album (preordered) AND a sale of the single even though they only actually made a sale of the album.
