Remember that the interviewer asked Cher, not the other way round. It's not our fault that Cher happened to have an opinion on the subject that you didn't like. Perhaps if you didn't want people to have such a perceived bias against Lorde, perhaps she shouldn't have invited such bias-causing controversy in the first place?
So let's wind this all the way back. If Cher was desperate for any bit of relevance...why was she being interviewed in the first place? If she was irrelevant, she wouldn't be approached for an interview. If she wasn't relevant, there wouldn't be a 6 page thread on here with people both defending her and criticising her. Irrelevance would dictate that there'd be barely any responses at all and that this matter would fly under the radar as with many other "X says bad thing about Y" cases.
So in terms of "lacking basic reading comprehension"...well. Those in glass houses?

Cher is still entirely correct. Lorde's interpretation of feminism is archaic and pre-supposes that the female shouldn't be free to express her own feelings of sexuality.
