Don't Let Me Go is a mid tier flop at best. Nothing interesting whatsoever.

That might be the biggest lie I've ever heard.

It is flawless and just further proof that the minute Harry goes solo, he's gonna kill every male in the industry's career on the spot.

JCLHG is another standard track, while DLMG is mature and a fresh sound.The only logical explanation as to why it wasn't put on the album is that the other members clearly couldn't pull off the emotions and rawness in the song like the King did.

DLMG is so depressing though. The problems with it: Harry's vocals are nowhere that great to effectively emote the message of the song. It's impossible to even feel any sort of emotional connection to it (unless you're one of those people who think the sappy lyrics make up for the mediocre arrangement); because it's a slow tempo track with music arrangement completely wrong for the depth and emotion the song needs to go.

Then there's the feature artist who doesn't even know how harmonize very well at all; leading to a messy song where Harry would've been done better with Zayn or Liam at the very least.

The other issue I find with the song is its horribly outdated sound that should have stayed back in 2006. It's too mellow. As it is, if this song is any indication like you think, I really doubt even Harry would do that well (the fan girls are very fleeting; and it's one reason why JCLHG is such a huge step in the right direction. It would seriously give the boys options and audience in pop when they eventually go their separate ways.)

Oh and Penny: Word of advice; a three letter response just proves you don't have any real argument.

I don't care much for Harry but he'd do better in a group with the others. None of them are at a level to carry the kind of weight DLMG requires. And it would sound much better as a mid-tempo track.

His is mediocre if you listen to enough vocalists (the boys qualify as singers which is a different thing entirely) who make an artform out of emotive expressing in their vocals.

Of course not. It's an outdated sound that no one would want to get depressed from the sad state of it all.

Moments is an example where Harry is actually doing okay. DLMG is a mess where nothing is even close to polished.

And you're pretty much spot on. Artists aimed towards the teen market are viewed as "inferior" and the fact they're manufactured seems to overrule the actual music itself (ironic considering the pop moguls of the industry that everyone loves), which is a shame. And yeah, 1D aren't groundbreaking, but the fun, lighthearted pop music they make is spot on. I love the way their vocals are layered throughout their material, it's just really pleasing to the ear for me.

The Lord truly creates incorrigible stans. At least we know you'll stand the test of time.

Don't get me wrong though. It's mostly DLMG that's mediocre. If anything, Liam and Zayn are much more suited to slow tempo songs (ballads and all) more than Harry. Gotta Be You/More Than This/Moments are proof of this.

Finished song or not. It's still a mess. Now I'm close to preferring SoML at this point.

Harry would do better on faster tempo tracks. Although I'm beginning to wonder if there is no track you hate from the boys.
