Thanks, sis, for your response. The usage of "The Birth of Venus" is obvious but Gaga's statue is not even a free interpretation of the Milo statue. I mean, they got nothing in common except for being statues

Still, even you surely realise that the chances of Gaga performing better than Katy right now is 0.01%, right? Not that it matters, I care about the song, but Gaga's reputation and how the public will see her and her music is heavily influenced by Katy's huge success... They'll compare them and their success. I'm starting to think it very likely that all Katy's singles this era are gonna go #1 again, regardless of how they both are live, since Katy has a lot more radio friendly music and this album sounds great on top of it

Aphrodite = Venus. Greek = Roman. ART = POP.
It's quite an easy concept, yet I think it will take a few months for people to understand it. It's like saying, "we are one".

I think Gaga did actually confuse them (she even referred to it as Venus de Milo in the 9at9 interview when talking about the seashells and her hairstyle), but she's also used the "Botticelli punk" term so I don't get why she's referred to it as Venus de Milo.

That's why I said “inspired“. I didn't say it completely references it.
Inspiration is deriving a certain idea/concept from something.

I hope that Gaga's team can hold the leaks like Katy's team, this literally just started leaking today and it's officialy released in two days in some countries.

I'm completely aware of that. But upon hearing Katy's album I think Gaga has a strong chance to at least outperform Katy's single once during this era.
I think Kats are overestimating Katy's power this era as much as we are underestimating Gaga's. I don't think things are as certain as we thought they were, after hearing “Prism“.
ARTPOP may come in like a storm and surprise us all.

No, no, I know you said "inspired" and my post wasn't going against you. For me, it's just too little to say the cover was inspired by the Venus de Milo. Because even though both pieces refer to same godess, as BadMonster explained, ...

... I still don't see how channeling the same typical image of Venus makes the ARTPOP cover reference the Venus de Milo. Then she might as well say the cover references Giorgione's Venus or Titian's although it apparently doesn't. I can see where this explanation is coming from but I wouldn't go there. To me it actually seems like she did confuse them But I still love her embracing art
But please, clock me and tell me different. I would love Gaga to be right

I can only repeat myself: Clock me, educate me, come at me, educated sistrens

I think they will stream it before a leak happens..hopefully
We need to have our eyes open and report everyone who rips it and shares it online
