She stayed in the top 20 there for a long time and was above Prism even in the US, where Katy is huge, before she released promo singles. Remember, promo singles are to help the pre-order, so it's not surprising that Gaga's isn't doing great now when the album comes out this time next month, it was put on pre-order a month and a half ago and it has no promo singles. iTunes hasn't even updated the tracklist or artwork yet.

I think the last official pre order numbers we got was 45k+ from HDD in September 4th. If the album was way below the iTunes Top 100 albums during most of September (was it?), I don't think it passed 100k before it jumped back up.

All of the fanbase was gloating that Applause will slay Roar, when it was obvious Katy is stronger this era and would outdo her and of course she did. The same thing is happening with the album release. Its obvious Katy is going to do better than Gaga, but I guess I can't blame everyone for still wanting to believe Gaga can outsell her.

ARTPOP will sell well, between 200-300. But she doesn't have 500 on lock. We've gotta be realistic.
