Next year will be her first Country album. I'm already speculating that the debut single will be something featuring Miranda Lambert or Blake Shelton to get her to the top of the charts and then they'll release a big solo song and hopefully it won't flop like MKIA, DR, and TIU. Even though DR got so much critical acclaim.

Country radio hates most every female unless it's Carrie or Miranda right now. Kelly's duets do well. But I honestly think it hurts her that there's no Country album to promote. The singles are just kind of thrown out there and she does promo but there's nothing to support but the song. I think her country album will be successful.

ET's Nancy O'Dell sat down with Grammy-winning singer Kelly Clarkson to discuss a variety of topics, from her forthcoming wedding to her upcoming Christmas album, and also got some clarification on her VMAs tweet.

Well after a month after this year's MTV Video Music Awards, people are still talking about the show, particularly a pair of provocative performances from Miley Cyrus and Lady Gaga.

As a singer and performer herself, Clarkson expressed her thoughts about the VMAs during the show, posting a tweet that seemed directed at scantily-clad performers Cyrus and Gaga.

Clarkson said her post was meant to be taken comically, telling ET, "I was just being funny. ... You can take whatever you want from that. I didn't say names. I never said any names."

The pop rock singer, who rose to fame as the winner of American Idol's first season, then shared her general thoughts on the "sex sells" mantra that persists in the music industry.

"People always say, 'How did you make it ten years?' My whole focus has always been the talent. I don't want to distract from that," Clarkson said frankly. "There's cool ways to complement it. You could be sexy sometimes; you could be fun and playful; you can be whatever the song calls for.

"My fear for a lot of people...in the industry is [they are] clouding [their] actual talent. ... People aren't going to ever want to see you because you're talented; they're going to want to see what kind of big circus is going to happen with it."

For ET's interview with Kelly Clarkson, tune in to Entertainment Tonight on Thursday.

Clarkson will raise awareness on Fair Trade through a special "Great Coffee, Good Vibes, Choose Fair Trade" concert in New York on Thursday as well.
