I saw Gravity early because the evening shows were sold out. I liked it but found it overrated. It's not the masterpiece to end all masterpieces like the critics have hailed it while reaching for their thesaurus for new words of praise.

I never once wondered "how did they do that?!?!?!" like the critics said. I mean they're floating in space and stuff explodes and debris slams into things. It does not redefine special effects like Star Wars and Jurassic Park.

Also, Sandra Bullock is no more or less talented in Gravity than she has been for the past 20 years. She was just as good in Speed. Just because her past movies weren't directed by amateurs or get 97 on Metacritic doesn't mean she wasn't as good.

Still, a good, solid survival movie which stands out because it felt like the kind of story that would usually have a male lead (like Alien).

Hmm this is a tad discouraging. It was next on my to-see list. Is it not worth the $12 to see it?
