no one outside the stanning world cares about the charts and thinks that a person is over because their single didn;t go to #1, most people still see Gaga as a huge star and have heard Applause, one "under performing" single will not ruin her career, Rihanna has had bunch of flop singles and the bitch still gets hits(no pun intended) the same with taylor swift and a bunch of other artist. look at Madodo she has had a good amount of flops through out her career but she still outlasted all her peers who were out doing her back in the day. when Gaga can't even get a top 50 hit, sell 500k albums or tour anymore like Ke$ha THEN you can say that she's over.

Except both do an equal part of hyping. Gaga & DJWS were sure "Applause" would be an amazing hit and they made it out to still fit in and smash among everything released this year. It wasn't just the Monsters.
