It's not like the songs were #80 and were discounted to push them to #1.
They were close to number one but not quite and were falling back so last minute discount and a remix can resurge that single. Just look at S&M wasn't going to hit number one until that remix

They really don't. Kinda interchangeable. At least they're one tier above Britney who probably won't get her good reputation back despite trying to sing live these past few years.
