I have a friend who works in the government that posted this...

If the government shuts down The CDC will be unable to track outbreaks and monitor disease spreading at a local level

Meaning, if a new virus or disease happens to just come about tomorrow (or until the shut down ends) we won't know or be able to get it controlled. That's the one that worries me the most.
