Yea, because her team probably told the group of people in charge of this interview some facts (including the Katy thing) so she could get that press. Don't you know how these interviews work? Hopefully it's not something she regrets in the future, but if she doesn't want to tour with these artists, why should she obliged to say yes? The "unlikeable" comments coming about because Lorde is doing what she feels is best for her as an artist? As long as Lorde respectfully declined, then I don't see what the issue is here.

Now the opening act position can be utilised by a new artist who will actually use the position to their full capacity. I don't think there's anything wrong with this, really.
