She's still responsible for the vocal delivery, taking a fairly basic song to levels far above Taylor her discography
Roar is just about the laziest thing she's written. It's just a hurricane of cliches, some of which I'm not sure she knows the meaning of.
That line was originally spoken by Muhammad Ali, but it didn't have anything to do with his spirit or perseverance. It was a description of his fighting style. While he wasn't known for his power, he more than made up for it with his agility. He'd effortlessly run circles around his opponents (float like a butterfly) while barraging them with quick, sharp jabs (sting like a bee).
I don't see how that's related to Katy Perry's relationship issues.
Meh. Madonna passed what she did in 8 shows, with 2 shows in Colombia. She and Gaga are still much stronger touring acts. Even beyst average was higher in Europe
Lol i'm starting to think the Mrs Carter Tour was a bit of an under-performance in contrast to the Hive's initial thoughts. That's got to be the only reason the box scores haven't been released.
How could I miss Variety praising Marion's future Oscar-winning role in "The Immigrant" for so long. This movie needs a ****ing release date.

This rich, beautifully rendered film boasts an arrestingly soulful performance from Marion Cotillard as a Polish nurse-turned-prostitute for whom the symbolic promise of Ellis Island presents only hardship.Gray clearly sees something in Cotillard that no other helmer — not even her husband, Guillaume Canet — has brought out in her before. Recognizing the deep, haunted quality of Cotillard’s gaze, he features her eyes as the soul of his story, counting on their mournful quality to play to the back of the house, even as he resists unnecessary closeups in favor of broad-canvas widescreen as much as possible. Likewise, he seems unconcerned with the immediate payoff of camera placement (although he frames the meticulously researched sets like old photographs and supplies a whopper of a final shot), making choices that serve the performances and support the cumulative impact.
Hollywood Reporter and The Guardian loved her performance too.

With her eyes and body, Cotillard indelibly registers the enormous price Ewa pays for a shot at a new life.

Cotillard herself is incapable of giving a bad performance and she certainly carries the movie's opening act, lining up with her ailing sister in Ellis Island, having tensely endured the unspeakable boat journey from the old country.
