But let's not lie, "Jewels and Drugs" is a good song, but Gaga doesn't do the song very well. I'd give it a higher score if someone else did it.
The only other girl that would probably do Jewels and Drugs better is Rihanna. Gaga sounds good on the track, the studio version will probably sound even better.

I was sort of thinking of Rihanna, but I'm not sure. Gaga sounds so nasal in parts of the song, and it's off-putting.
If people seriously believe that ARTPOP is looking to be a mess, then the door out is a click away.
"Sex Dreams" is an undeniable classic Gaga song. It embodies all the qualities that a great Gaga song should have: provocative lyrics, an insanely catchy chorus, and beautiful production.
"Jewels & Drugs" is a shocker for Lady Gaga. It is the first true "Urban" song she has ever done, and shows us that, once again, she can excel at any genre in music.
"MANiCURE" is the crazy rock-influenced mid-tempo pop smash that she has always been waiting to release. "Electric Chapel" was the first attempt, but "MANiCURE" does it so much better.
"ARTPOP" is the most mystic track of the songs she has released thus far. This song reminds me of something similar to HML with more structure. Gorgeous production, but with also a defined and powerful chorus.
"Swine" is her most unhinged and insane track ever. Where the song struggles in its lyrical content, it makes up for it quickly with its crazy production and haunting intro.
"Aura" holds perhaps her strongest chorus of this era so far. Overall, the song really offers a new perspective on Lady Gaga as an artist with the powerful production and peculiar intro.
"I Wanna Be With You" may be passed off as another "token ballad" from Lady Gaga, but it really does offer something special. It trumps "You and I" with its heartfelt lyrics and is overall on par with "Speechless" and "Fooled Me Again" as one of her best ballads.
And you people complain about these tracks? Bye.
Applause for you.
I have no doubt about any of the songs she performed. They're all fantastic. Even swine.
Saying "behind the burqa" more than once would be annoying. It has the perfect effect to be said once. She also shouldn't even say "She wear burqa for fashion" in the second verse; she should say something else instead of "burqa" there without majorly changing it.
Burqa was changed to Aura due to the potential backlash. #fact
And the lyrics were "behind the burqa" for the chorus. #fact
Well at least something was learnt last era.
But then again
"Releases a song with a controversial name => OMG why did she ruin it with those lyrics, I can't"
"Changes a controversial name => BYE Gags, be proud of your cultural appropriation"
"Releases a song with a controversial name => OMG why did she ruin it with those lyrics, I can't"
"Changes a controversial name => BYE Gags, be proud of your cultural appropriation"
The lyrics aren't bad (If you don't count "Gorgeousness of my face"), and the song is definitely appropriating/problematic, but "Burqa" is still a better title.
But I will take a stab at DJWS if he dilutes the EDM sound with his rookie production. We only have a demo version of Aura and I can already tell how much more polished it is than Swine for example. Swine sounds like some BTW synths.
I need polished. Applause works for me because it's not EDM.
