Honestly if you think this then you know nothing about how mainstream charts work just stop. There are factors you are not considering, the odds of SS outdoing its peak, at least in the U.S., are astronomical.

1) how is that even a valid argument when it's not really the discussion?
2) SS is a radio hit due to a remix. Which DOES say a lot considering a remix was even necessary to make it a hit while Applause, generic or not, still has charted higher in more countries in a less amount of time on its own.

Firstly it still has had official radio releases in the countries mentioned, recently though, but now the positions count. Um? This is delusion. First of all Lana Del Rey has had singles chart in the US. Few releases but people still knew who she was since 2012.
Secondly Applause has bit out for a month and you're basically saying it should have a year's worth of success that SS has within less of this time.
