Die Young performed better than Applause in every MAJOR music market but the UK and Germany. Even then, it's UK positions are very close.

I'm not saying Ke$ha's a better album seller. She won't be and won't ever be (Although I'd like to see if ARTPOP will top 3 Million WW but I'll bite my tongue on that one) but if you're comparing lead singles, like you are, Ke$ha did better.
