-- 3rd week seems to be on lock.
-- 4th week (where Britney will impact) is up in the air. All depends on how huge Britney opens with. Is Britney a streaming force?

After that, I think that's where Royals and WMU will start to be major threats. I'm seeing at least 4 weeks and a possible 5. Eight might be a stretch (although I'd LOVE that ), but I've been wrong before.

Britney has very frontloaded sales, but I don't think that will be enough to stop Katy's massive airplay and sales.
The new Hot100 formula makes it almost impossible for anyone to debut at #1.

I don't think Britney's enough of a streaming force as "Roar" will still be selling very well and closing in on #1 at radio by then, in addition to having its own streams.

The reason I think she could hold off Avicii and Lorde is because they're both more or less new to the US market and won't be even nearly able to challenge her at radio, especially with "Roar" having good crossover appeal. It's a stretch, but if Katy plays her cards right with promo and helps sales and streaming, 8+ weeks could happen with radio's probably guaranteed support.
