Y'all are doing too much on Applause. From all the songs we've heard so far, Applause was definitely one of the better choices. I personally would've went with Sex Dreams (because it's amazing and also the only one with good, relatable lyrics that aren't awkward and off putting) but I doubt any of them would've been much bigger than Applause, it's by far the poppiest and catchiest thing we've heard so far.
Even though I prefer most of the Swinefest songs, I still LOVE Applause. Those horror movie vocals on the verses, the nostalgic video game sounds, A-P-P-L-A-U-S-E >>>>>>

I would've loved it tbh The best time (imo) to release a risky single is as the lead, because you'll at least have the buzz surrounding your first new material, or as the last single when you don't care anymore that it will inevitably flop
Do you think that buying the songs on iTunes would have some benefit through the app? That would be the most intelligent thing to do, I have never bought music from iTunes but I bought Applause & ARTPOP cause I'm expecting them to give me something on the app.
