I don't think it's that. I think she just has a core stanbase of around a million buyers that will buy her record first week. If she has a smash like WANEGBT, it will push it up even more like it did with Red, but I think she will sell 1m or very close to next time again.

I don't think people will respond so wonderfully to yet another catchy pop song like WANEGBT, and Red's momentum isn't huge at all. She'll probably need some non-pop song that would restore her credibility and the album-buying population that can actually smash (and it's hard to get that I guess)

I think if she ended the era with All Too Well and it was a crossover smash, that would set her up for a huge era for LP5. I don't think Taylor has even peaked yet sales-wise, because I think there's a huge audience of people that could love her music, but haven't given her a chance yet. Adele's 21 went diamond because of songs like Someone Like You and Rolling in the Deep. I truly believe All Too Well and State of Grace/Holy Ground are just as good.

Hmm I dunno but honestly if WANEGBT didn't smash and had like Mine-like performance, I doubt she would've gotten that million.
I think if she could release a huge smash (like at least top 5 etc) now it would definitely help build a lot of momentum for the next album. Then again, it's kinda too late in the era and I doubt anything could be a huge smash at this moment
I think Fearless will be her peak sales-wise (at least in the US). Albums generally tend to sell better when the artist is like really breaking out compared to an already established artist, especially since now her sales are more front-loaded then say the Fearless era.

True, but I feel like there's the potential for another breakout for Taylor. Fearless was her breakthrough as a teen singer and I don't think she's completely broken through to an adult audience yet and definitely could. Not saying she doesn't have older fans (hello! I'm one) but people still frequently dismiss her as an act for 12 year-old girls. I think as she gets older and her fans grow up with her, that perception of her will change and open her up to a whole 'nother group of album-buyers who never gave her a chance before. I would not be surprised if a 28 year-old Taylor had her biggest seller yet with LP7.

With the fall coming, I think EHC has a pretty good chance of reaching at least 90-100M

Wait, no - you're right. I was under the impression that there was a precedent and that Mariah had re-peaked with Music Box after her breakthrough debut album. But that was worldwide; in the US, her debut is still her biggest-seller. OK, so there's no precedent to suggest Taylor could ever beat Fearless's US sales; just that her total WW sales peak might not have been set yet.

Well, transiting to a full adult audience doesn't necessarily mean her album sales will be better.
But oh well, never say never
And woah, how old are you?

Hmmm, I would say LAV was Madonna's breakout album. She was successful with her first, but she was still under Cyndi Lauper's shadow. LAV is what made her massive - like Katy Perry from One of the Boys to Teenage Dream, or our very own Lord from the debut to Fearless.
But Thriller is a good example, I think, that shows it's possible.

I pray everyday that EHC smashes, but cmon at this rate it's not.
It's been 2 months, Taylor isn't some up and coming indie artist who's song is just only catching onto the GP's ears, so if she isn't shooting up now, she ain't gonna shoot up.
Then again I wish I was wrong

Or I should stop doubting the power of The Lord
