It's true, though. For years, Nokia had been the top smartphone manufacturer and Samsung being a distant second with both producing handsets with the same Symbian OS. Nokia could have continued their dominance with Android as everybody was awaiting Nokia's jumping the Android bandwagon 2 years ago but only to get disappointed of their eventual partnership with Microsoft. Symbian and Android have many things in common. Both of them are open, highly customizeable and feature-rich platforms. Majority of Android users nowadays are former Nokia Symbian users.
