I consider myself a big Adele fan, but not a stan really I don't even know why I'm not stanning; her music is great, her performances are great (Live at Royal Albert Hall is the best live dvd in recent years), she's a riot, and she's sold like a gazillion records and won tons of Grammys and an Oscar to boot

I guess it's just too safe. like, there's no point. She doesn't even need defending, even if she starts flopping, because she kinda became a pop star by chance and everyone knows she doesn't fit the mold.

People still expect a lot from her and that only hurts her career on the long run, so taking a break from touring to focus on getting some performing skills can only help her + It'll make people face the truth that she's not as good as before but she's still good (assuming she'll work hard). Even Madonna can't do the **** she used to do on her first 3 tours, MJ's O2 concerts were going to be embarrassing, but people still say "wow they're good for their age" or "they're still amazing" because they portray themselves as such. This vegas residency is the best thing for her also because hopefully it'll teach her to do some crowd interaction (cause she'll feel comfortable performing in the same venue every time) since we all know she doesn't do that now
