The VMAs already under her belt. How Capitol treats Katy is truly kind of perfect promotion. People like to use her "excessive" promotion as a negative but that's really only biased stans. Her label is SMART & knows they will get a lot of money back from her.
And I would definitely agree with Rico that she's the music industry's sweetheart. The Red era was a massive success in terms of sales/touring/singles but it kind of damaged her image. I've noticed more people calling her annoying & the general media as well is not treating her as kindly. Kind of strange because Red is definitely her best album.

WOA is good but it does sound kind of dated from the snippet. Dark Horse sounds great.
I'm glad she dropped the dark album. I'm confident she'll deliver an album with pop/alternative heavy hooks while being more personal. Well, a mix of pure pop & pop/alternative. Roar is pop/alternative with a definite leak to pop heavy.
Maybe because Applause is higher on Amazon? That's the only thing I can think of.
