If it wasnt for Single Ladies, I wouldnt even call her an icon. She would have been just as impact-less as Pink, Usher, & Alicia.
Single Ladies was incredibly local too. It only reached #1 in one country and was Googled less than all of Rihanna, P!nk, Britney, Madonna and Mariah's singles from the same year.

It was only sent to radio in the UK in March. There were only two televised performances of it, Glastonbury (10 months prior) and A Night With Beyoncé (4 months prior)
