I don't think so. The public is still iffy on Gaga. She's won people back with the single and so far she hasn't been ridiculously overbearing in terms of promo/"craziness." For an "obviously wrong" choice, it's doing quite well so far. Plenty of great eras start with a moderate hit lead single. We still have quite a while until the album
