This is stupid logic, though. Madonna was overshadowed for literally her whole entire career. There was ALWAYS someone bigger, more successful both commercially and critically.
80sdonna was not overshadowed by any popgirl. She did better than Cyndi, did better than Janet, did better than Kylie. The only popgirl who probably was her biggest competition is Whitney Houston but she never overshadowed her until the 90s with Bodyguard era doing better than Erotica/Bedtime Nightcream. Whitney overshadowed basically everyone in the industry that era anyways.
According to the 2010 Census, the racial makeup of Los Angeles included: 1,888,158 Whites (49.8%), 365,118 African Americans (9.6%), 28,215 Native Americans (0.7%), 426,959 Asians (11.3%)
Britney could have retired at 21, and would still need to wait 30 years for the current girls to even come close to outselling her
Only because the market was way better back then. The Fame Monster spent more weeks on the charts than BOMT, OIDA, Britney, ITZ, Blackout, Femme Fatale combined
Korean digital numbers are fake. They used to cost less than 2 cents and include FreeZone sales, which are ringtones that are given out for free the third week of a single's release. Stans just go and use FreeZone to manipulate the charts to ensure a win on the weekly charts.

Katy to? Katy to what?
Katy to be #1 on WW iTunes tomorrow again?
Katy to be #1 on BBHOT100 tomorrow?
Katy to pass Lady Gaga in Facebook likes?
Katy to have much more impact than any other pop gurl this era?
I'm listening

Weren't you an Exhaler at one point?
Of course I was. I'm not hating on homegirl, I think it's premature to call her a legend.
