Radio is irrelevant. Look at the top 10 songs, most of them aren't selling well at all.

Top 10 is pretty weak for Gaga. If her lead single can't get to number 1, or even at least number 2 behind Katy, then how does she expect the rest of the era to do any better?

The public knows by now that her single is out, yet it's not taking off as well as it should have.

You can't use what if's re: the VMAs because they DID happen. Gaga is ABOVE the two songs from the most-talked about moment from the show. She got the biggest bump out of everyone.

And there are plenty of eras where the second single is more successful than the first; or even the THIRD single being a smash.
