I just hate everything about that video besides the Red Dress & Black outfit

Deja Vu's brilliance lies in it's ability to present such a concise theme and palpable frenetic energy through visuals and video energy. Her vocals on the song are continually in high-alert mode, she's not content ("I'm out of control") nor sane ("It's like I'm losing it"), and the video reflects that. You can see it in the way that it's edited and the way Sophie Muller and the cinematographer(s) made it look. Examples of this are the scene where she is being shot over head and is writhing around as water is flowing behind her, as she is frantically spinning in a field, as she tries to get Jay-Z's attention by dancing, but she is having a Deja-Vu and no matter what she does he will not notice her because he is an illusion.
Aside from that, she looks absolutely gorgeous in her southern woman persona. The costumes may look dated now but at the time I remember them being very high-fashion. The choreography I found also to be very original and forward. I loved her African-inspired dance moves and the quickness of her movements further represented the theme of the song. It looks messy because (I think) it is supposed to. She's kind of going crazy here.
Watch it again and keep in mind the lyrics and that she's had this love who (maybe) left her, and now she's trying to move on but everything she does reminds her of him and makes her go crazy. And if you still don't like it well, differing opinions
