You have to let these people believe what they want to believe when it comes to Adele. They know the minute "24" (she better not name it 25, that sounds like an anniversary edition of something) is announced their faves stand no chance at Grammys or further album sales for the next two years.
And according to them, Adele had no prior success to 21. 19, her debut album, was a total and complete flop despite the fact the hype from that album alone gave her first week sales of 355,000 in the US. And the biggest hit from that era reached number 21 on BBH100.
Adele had a strong fanbase prior to 21 and will continue to have one. People just want to believe she's a fad because they know with her around, they can't claim their fav to be the best or most successful.
