I can't speak for games/consoles, but nicknaming songs, albums, record labels, tv shows, and films has never been a warnable offense; there was no "re-allowing" to speak off.

a while back we discussed it together, and decided that it was getting out of hand. people started stanning for consoles/phones the way they stan for artists, and the inevitable nicknames got to a point that we decided it was too much.

You could post 20 times a minute if it's to "update" people on the song moving up or down on iTunes in one country. Not even from or to #1, but from #5 to #6.

I'm not quite sure I follow. We're no longer allowed to report on a song's current chart positions in certain countries if they're negative? "Irrelevant, disruptive, flamebait, trolling" and a thread ban for updating a song's iTunes position?

I wish I could've posted "Lady Gaga move up and regains rightful spot at #1 on iTunes Australia" but that just didn't happen.

No, I said the stanning caused the nicknames going too far.
People can stan all they want for certain games/consoles/phones, I do so too, but the nicknames were getting ridiculous; no one used the actual name of the product anymore. Same reason for why we don't allow nicknames for artists.

When it gets to the point that the real names are hardly used anymore, it's gotten too far.

People have been posting when it moves around the iTunes top 10 in lots of countries... I'm sure there were posts made when it dropped from #2 to #3 in Canada, or #2 to #3 in the USA, or from #2 to wherever it is now in the UK. Were they warned? Were they flamebait? It just so happened that I made the post updating her position while it was freefalling in Australia and I was watching the chart... It went from #4 to #7 in a matter of about an hour.

I can understand if I was posting that it dropped from #14 to #15 in Zimbabwe, but as far as I know Australia is a pretty important music market and a country where Gaga has been struggling to crack the top 3 (and instead, she's moving further away from it), so it's a country people are interested in seeing the chart on.

Should people not know that? Should people not take notice?

And don't think that I'm a Gaga hater - I'm sure my 15000 posts on Gaga forums would back me up on that. I want success for her, obviously. Just because it isn't the news people want to hear doesn't make it flamebait.
