Applause already falling to #3?

I could see it pulling a "Judas" on Pop radio and fading quick.
I think this song is turning casual buyers/general public off, when you play the preview on iTunes: "I live for the applause, etc".
These lyrics are quite the disaster.

At least, if cliched, people, a lot of people and demographics can relate to Roar.
I guess it was just a bad lead single choice that could (or not) potentially damage her brand.
