As if anyone besides diehard monsters and people on ATRL heard about ARTPOP all year long There was no hype for Applause aside from her tweeting about it. Considering Gaga didn't even do any interviews or magazine covers prior to this, you can't possibly say she was hyping like with BTW.
I must say, even though Applause is the best track from all the major girls this year, I was weary about how it would do, especially compared to Roar as it's an all rounder in terms of audience. But then I remembered Gaga is Queen of Pop and will do brilliantly WW.

She definitely didn't hype Applause. She announced it like a month before it was supposed to come out, which is normal.
BTW was literally hyped for a good 5-6 mos. before it came out. From the VMA's speech, the lyrics being tweeted, the Gagavision teasers, and the picture she released on NYE. Applause doesn't come close at all.
Applause soon to be #1 combined in Turkey. Horrible country that likes to massacre 1.5 million innocent people and then deny it (Armenian Genocide), but at least they're getting something right. Surprised it's not #1 in Azerbaijan yet but they have poor taste there and they're like Turkey's bitch so they will follow soon with that #1 as well
