But I can tell you something about Gaga's, which is going to be released very soon.
"Applause" is 3:34 long. It's a dance song and It starts with a dance beat. Kinda like HIAM does. It's a little messy imo. I was quite disappointed when I heard it. It would def fit on the Born This Way album. Her vocals are kind of "loud". It's the typical screaming voice she uses in some of her songs.
I think September 17th is perfectly fine. I would aim more for September 23/24 or September 30 but that day is fine. I still don't know why they insist on doing it on a Tuesday instead of a Monday, but I guess 6 days of sales should be good.
I think if they release the song on Monday the 16th and put up an audio video on YT and a link on Spotify and then the song for sale on the 17th it'd be AMAZING.
Britney will NOT disappoint, Gaga is way to bipolar for me to be a fan of hers, like she goes from releasing good pop songs like Bad Romance to now BTW and Applause.. Britney can always do something revolutionary and good without completely changing her sound.
I PRAY she's not releasing a ballad as the lead single, how would she even promote it? We all know she won't sing it live.
It's too big of a risk, she's known for her uptempos and that's what should be released as the lead. A ballad can be released later in the era.
They'll probably continue to release only dance/electro pop songs as singles, and it's probably for the better. One ballad at the end of the album like Blackout is good enough.
