They changed that rule about crediting. For example nobody is credited to UOENO even though most of its points are coming from remixes (airplay, because radio stations won't play the original due to Rick Ross's lyrics, and also streaming).

On Bubble Butt by Major Lazer, most radio stations are playing the 2 Chainz remix, most of its streams come from the music video which uses the 2 Chainz remix and they didn't credit him.

On Crazy Kids by Ke$ha they were crediting Juicy J even when his remix wasn't selling anything.

On Bad by Wale, they were crediting both Rihanna and Tiara Thomas for a while (not sure if they still are).

I wish they'd just get one rule for decided who gets officially credited and stick to it to be honest... In the UK they do it by whoever is credited on the single cover I think (no matter which version sells the most).

Maybe they made a mistake in an article they published when DY went top ten last fall. They mentioned that she only had 8 top ten hits (when it should have been 9). I thought they may have been negligent and forgot about TTWE.

I agree. Especially due to the fact that they only seem to pay attention to it when it's stuff like S&M, Till the World Ends, etc. Like with Bad by Wale, they decided to credit Rihanna on it, when there's SO many similar situations when it's a rapper instead of Rihanna and they just completely ignore it. They only made the exception to credit it as "Tiara Thomas or Rihanna" because Rihanna is a pop girl, or else there would be millions of other songs with "or" credits too.

I think that Gaga has a chance at a #1 either this tracking week (very slim) or next (a LOT more likely with the video coming, but still nothing to bet on). But yeah, HG and Roar are going to be the next #1 hits otherwise. The early release of "Applause" probably doomed it to a #2 peak but it will have better longevity with the release, video, and VMA performance all being in sequential weeks.

Nah, I don't think a number one is in the cards for "Applause." It really relied on the video being released the same week as the single.

I don't see it lingering in the top ten for an extended period of time either. But we'll see.

It should have three weeks in the top three at the very least, with the promo schedule it has currently - I think it might exceed expectations based on the fact that it seems a lot more radio friendly than er singles last era, but it's really too early to tell.
