IMO the vocals are very weak on this...the instrumental is not bad, but the song is just lacking energy and a clear melody...something like this would flop hard.

I didn't mean as the lead single. Just as something for the album in general.
What I wish for the most is something similar to this if she's going for complextro, but it probably won't happen. I mean, Porter Robinson technically "invented" the word "complextro".

But I agree with you that somehting similar to this probably won't be on ARTPOP. I think that Zedd's Spectrum is quite a good indication of what to expect from ARTPOP.

But it's only because I have a hard time imagining that Gaga & Zedd didn't create something much bigger than she & DJWS. And imagine how beautiful it'd all work out. The first single could smash & let people know Gaga's still got it, and the next could bring them to their knees once more.

I'm prettty sure that would be a stan's wet dream come true.

Anyway, I really hope that for ARTPOP they didn't just make dope beats, but dope beats with huge melodies themselves. I'm so anxious to hear her take on this genre. Is she going to use minimal vocals, which is the norm? Is she going to follow typical verse-chorus(x2) - bridge forumla? Will there be a lot of spoken word?

I kinda love the fact that we know absolutely nothing. This speculation game passes the time.

I am. "Language" is overrated. The whole light-electro sound is boring; it can easily be redone and replaced. Heavy, darker stuff such as "Spitfire" and "The Seconds" is where his talent shows.

Well, the melody takes precedence for me. And in that sense, Language runs circles around the others. It has that emotional vibe that can bring a grown man to tears. It moves you. It's him at his highest Avicii.


I need that on ARTPOP.

A Paul production is smart first; it may not be as good as Zedd's but a first single from Gaga pretty much always slays. Then it's smart to save a better single as the 2nd to keep the slayage coming

It's absolutely boring though. The melody isn't bad, but it isn't the best. The actual production/sound/techniques used to portray that melody is wrong.
