The site keeps going OC every five seconds. It's impossible to use the site when it does it.
You can't expect to get people to even post on the website when this happens. I don't understand what kind of issues Joseph is having with switching to vB4.
It would be better to just shut down the entire site until we switch, because we can barely use it now.

I don't see why people are complaining, the server has been stable these days

I remain confident in the admins despite posting like 3 times today instead of my usual 40+.

I've resisted complaining because I understand financial issues and the fact that this site isn't the center of anyone's life. However, for a forum of this magnitude this situation seems embarrassing at this point. I literally don't know of any other site on the web, be it large forums, large media outlets, large social outlets, small privately powered sites, or otherwise, that has frequent slowdowns or crashes.
If the move can't be done within a reasonable time frame because of real life or financial problems, so be it. But the way things are now is just unacceptable. We've reached the point where the site is actually unusable and other temporary solutions should be considered, like blocking non-members from viewing any material to reduce traffic.

Lee!!, sigh all you want, but we are allowed to complain about how much the ****ing server sucks and makes this site which was once enjoyable to post on unusable.
I bought ATRL+ in February when it was discounted to help pay for the server upgrade and here we are 5 months later and the site sucks more than ever.

Robyn.
I believe the server has been purchased already, but we're just having trouble switching over, which I don't understand...
Lee!!, the server's getting worse already. Earlier, it would come around the early afternoon. Now, it's just coming at all times of day, and it's coming more and more often during those times. It seems every other time I go to a different page on the site, I get the OC message.
---
I tried to post this at 4:17 and I keep getting OC when I try to post it. I mean...

Honest question, how long does it take to upgrade to a new server?
At this point I wouldn't mind the server being downgraded to a basic ass layout so at least then we can post until the new server is ready.

Oh oops. My sigh wasn't in regards to the complaints, it was in regards to the amount of OC time today ;_;
And to clarify again, we don't have a new server, its the software which is being upgraded. Once the current software is ditched, the server won't have as much stress on it. There might be some downtime today, depending on if the admins get to it, to dump some of the buildup on the site in hopes that the OC issue calms down in the mean time.

Even during the morning in European time when the site is basically dead the OC error still comes up all the time. A couple of months ago it would run so smoothly until the North/South American members woke up, but when they sign on the server is completely ****ed.
I'm just gonna move to GagaDaily until the server gets better, which sucks because I really like ATRL, but...

Have y'all considered limiting non-members to a single, cached sign-in page and not allowing them to view content in the meantime?

If needed, have the forum down for testing/upgrading to the new server/software/whatever it is. It's better to do something than nothing.

Practically 95% of users that currently have ATRL+ bought it 5 months ago when it was discounted to help pay for the server.
