But, Nicki had a lot of catching up to do anyway as she hasn't won any of the other challenges thus far. It depends on how much the hashtag challenge goes towards the final result.

Wouldnt that be amazing if she won especially after such a controversial year with the urban community. Hating on her is so 2012. But of course there are the diehards that insist on keeping the hate alive. I randomly went to an old nicki vs kim while I was waiting to go to my event last night at the hotel and saw they are even saying some of nicki's ai outfits are from kim. The reach? The thirst, hunger and desperation is still real with these bums.
As i said, the opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference. The fact that people care enough shows her impact.
Off my rant,
Would be icing on the cake for her to close out the era with BET award wins for that fan sht and female rapper?
2012 BET awards, VMA, TCA, AMAs,
2013 PCA, BMAs, and end with BET awards.
That's how you stunt on dem lessers

Be careful how you build your career on stunts and gimmicks. There's no longevity there

Le sigh...I even through you a bone and when you came for me or when I came for you (I forget which was first)...tried to boost ya ratings by throwing a little shade fest but you just weren't able to...well, it didn't play

Like Nicki, I'm a giver. I tried.

You cannot compare then to now
Speaking of, I remember the whole stadium rapping to ILDS when she was at SJ a few weeks ago. It's so underrated, and it wasn't even a single.
|
Exactly, that's why it's essential to make your impact within your first 2-3 years.
After that the GP starts to want to find things to bring you down.
The old saying: we build you up to tear you down.
THAT"S WHY I TOLD YOU BARBZ that last year was her litmus test to see if she could deal, perservere and still win. She did that and people are slowly starting to see that it didn't kill her just made her stronger so SOME will eventually start flocking back.
As a fan of Britney since high school, Rihanna since college and a couple of other artists that are controversial I know the game. It will continue to get done.
I'm just proud of Onika for getting through it. She was immature in the beginning of the era but look how much she's learned and changed towards the end.
That's why you all ANNOYED the BLEEP out of me when you all say that you wanted Va va voom as the first single looking back. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
She would have taking the safe route and people would have lost interest...would have enjoyed an easy hit but she NEEEEEEDED that controversy and backlash to a) put her in check as she started feelin herself b) experiment and test her boundaries c) experience the consequences d) route her career perfectly by creating a global brand and not just as a female rapper feature queen with a big butt and wig.
Mission accomplished.
The only thing that actually should have changed was starships should never exist and pound the alarm should have been the first pop single...especially after turn me on.
Pound the alarm, then va va voom, then marilyn monroe, then whip it/young forever on the pop side
Pound the alarm would have endured the backlash and polarity but only 25% less so she could still learn her lesson and deal with what i mentioned above but at least to a song that wouldn't be as much of a joke...I still can't at twinkle twinkle little start. Onika TRRRRIIIIIIIEDDD It

Mm...it serves its purpose. I don't see it doing great on radio but just ok.It's more like a club party record that will get aten up by the streets.

That's why most people shut them down. They just can't picture NICKI MINAJ doing it. *random thought*

True. I love that she experimented but GP sees it like this.

You know I just looked it up &
From June 5. We should be getting info for that soon.
I wonder how it'll sound. That "Dance" sound that was popular in 09-12 is officially dimming out in the US.
|
Dance popular from 07-12 when Queen Britney brought back euro dance and Queen Riri started off with urban pop sound but ended up releasing don't stop the music late 2007 although the album was released before Queen Britney's blackout (the chicken and egg situation there).

The thing with Clappers is that I can't picture it being a hit on Urban radio. I think it'll be another ILDS. A song on the album that EVERYONE knows. Most of her features are like that.

If that pop feature is for one of the main girls, we won't get it anytime soon. Katy, Rihanna, Gaga, Ke$ha, Britney, and Beyonce. None are releasing music right now. If it's for someone like Carly... I don't even want to think about that.
|
Why would it be for carly?
I don't see it for Beyonce but you all want it

I do see it for katy, Britney and Rihanna and in that order of probability.

I see where you're coming from. Hot 97 & Power 105 added it already, but I'm interested into how it sounds on radio.
Remember when TO was released and it wasn't even in the Top 300 of iTunes and it wasn't in the Top 50 on Urban, and then it exploded in an intense fashion when the video dropped? I see that for Clappers.
|
hopefully, I just need hot 100 debuts.

I really want it to be Justin Timberlake since his album is coming soon.

I could deal with JT. Hell no to David or Florida. It won't with Bruno he's in the middle of his era.

Nelly has been releasing Pop after Pop for years, so I'm interested if Urban picks him back up, even after all the work he put in.
|
He's a male. I mean isn't flo rida played on urban too.
Nelly can get picked back on urban because he's a male and with a song like get like me it regurgitates old pharell 2002-2005 beats. I swear that beat reminds me of something I heard while i was in undergrad. It's a safe bet he will be embraced. I'm glad she killed him on his own song.
I legit don't remember anything about Nelly on the song and that is objectively speaking.

You know the **** what? I don't care about those features at the moment because the MOST IMPORTANT one (I'm Out) is being performed tomorrow + having a video released tomorrow and yet it won't be on iTunes until July 9 with the album.
|
At this point, I just need the song to debut. If they want to eff up ciara's career, I won't stop them we just need I'm out and living it up to debut on the charts so we have to support those two and with streaming as well. Ciara is just a vehicle for Onika to get two more hot 100 entries at this point. I still think Living it up would be perfect for fall release.

Ugh I forgot about those dumb streaming rules. That bs certification on streaming. I'm pissed again
Oooh...I wonder if Onika was inflating...I mean stating her sales and using streaming as well.

The fact that this legit sounds like something that I would put out in the universe despite knowing the likelihood of labels doing it right is slim to none

|
Nicki's impact is undeniable and no one is worried about iggy p pop.
I just need Nicki to slay on all these features throughout the year so that any lesser female rapper that barely scores a hit isn't snatching that BeT female rap award. She needs to break Missys record. It all rests on 2014. After that's it's cake walk for her.
2010
2011
2012
2013
2014??? if it will be tough unless her features and first single allows her to keep her foot on the lessers neck
2015 her 2014 album will own souls
2016 the remnants and leftovers from the 3rd era could get her lucky 7 in a row.
BET better not fk this up
