I don't think you realise how big ATRL actually is. I'm assuming it takes a lot more than a snap here and a click there to transfer from new servers.

I'm usually not one to complain, but Damn how long does it take? I thought it took a few days not a few months. I don't post nearly as much as some of the other members here, including ririfan who's telling people to go out and get fresh air (lol the hypocrisy), but they asked people to buy ATRL subscriptions to get the ball rolling on the new server, but nothing's been done.

I'd rather have the forum down for a bit for testing than to have it up with these OC errors every 5 minutes or less.

We are staying on the same server, the plan is to "upgrade" the forum software. It won't look as good as the current forum but it won't have the technical issues that make the current forum crawl.

But it takes time to get the new forum ready. The owner and admins are obviously not working around the clock, they have jobs and lives. ATRL is not their priority. So we'll just have to make do. It's annoying but it is what it is. When we do upgrade it won't take longer than a day.

Sounds fantastic: An aesthetic downgrade. No urgency. No priority.
Definitely worth buying ATRL+.

The unfortunate thing about the whole ordeal is that ATRL is so popular and receives so much traffic that it has the immense potential to actually be a cash cow, not to mention a diverse, expansive community, if it only it had professional focus. But ATRL, in general, just comes off as a side project, so it never transcends. Perhaps I need to contact Joe, make him an offer or buy him out -- take ATRL off his hands and catapult this into an actual business venture.

The server will be stable with the transition to vB4. The build up of cache and other crap on the current vB3 is whats weighing the server down and once we delete it completely, the server will run fast again.
And the look of the site isn't going to be that big of a step down. It'll just be more streamlined. And the fast server time with no over capacity messages will all be worth it.
