Maybe the scientists wanted to extract the little girl's color and "cure" their lack of color? Coz Kelly-scientist's face looked curious and worried instead of evil. Gosh there can be so many possibilities (and I swear I'll cut someone if ya'll make one more DS/CMB-related prediction )

I read something about that black'n'white and colourful concept yesterday and I think it's more likely than my flawless concept with superpowers. Although it's much more basic to me. I like Kevin's idea about Kelly being an agent who tries to save the misfits. If it is the concept with colours, I still don't get why there is a special effect on Kelly's face. Watch the CGI effect being erased from the video....
