"In The Zone" was a very good cd but the only song with any emotional maturity was "Everytime" (and don't tell me "Shadow" because Brit didn't write that and it was just too sappy). Like I said earlier, Britney's not bad at all. But ITZ was really her only solid album and everything else she has done has been really spotty and full of filler. And the likes of Gwen Stefani and Fergie have proven that pop music has well outgrown the Britney heyday of 1999-2001. Maybe with the exception of Toxic, Brit just hasn't really been all that relevant to the music scene for the last 5 years. I don't understand all you people (or Chris Crocker for that matter). What in the world has Britney done in her entire career that really justifies these ridiculous fans that go to any end of the earth to defend her. it's just silly really. Britney's a sweet girl yes, but is she talented? not really. sure, she has a fundamental understanding of the piano--but she couldn't write or sing a song to save her life. Most of the hits you've all fallen in love with were written, arranged, produced, mixed by someone else--not Britney.

Actually even though she didn't write "Shadow", it still was a deep song. Her debut album was full of fillers yes, lol i listened to it all today, "Oops!" had more songs that could've been hits, "Britney", I can agree, had a good # of fills.
But first how can you compare Britney to Fergie & Gwen? "Gimme More" sounds like nothing she's done before (you can say "Slave" but no it's not) and we haven't even heard the actual album. Just a bunch of really good tracks that might not even make the cut. You really need to wait before judging that she's old news.
AND IF you feel that way about Britney then you must feel the same about Madonna or Janet, right? I mean their albums have pretty much been the same. Madonna with her pop/dance, Janet with her pop/rock/hip-hop/R&B sound, at least for the past few albums.
I find it funny how people can point out Britney, when there are SO many other artists who fall under what you are saying.
