"Judas" was my favorite song on Born This Way and the controversy surrounding it is very misplaed and fed by the GP's ignorance of the actual meaning, or lack of effort to think about the song and even recognize she's not literally singing about the real Judas like some devil worshiper.

I don't want to go through that anymore. I'm tired of going to her videos and seeing so many nasty comments. I just want an era free of controversy. I want to just relax and enjoy new music without having to think about it.

Understandable, but I think that we should all just stop thinking about what misguided haters think anyway. We should be able to enjoy the music without giving so much attention to people who just try to bring her down for no good reason.

Go stan for Katy Perry then, cuz obviously you've picked the wrong fave There's no way in hell there will be no controversy, it's what Gaga thrives on. Katy is one of the only female pop stars that just makes music and tries to keep up her image of the sweet girl next door

Let's not. The controversy Gaga got during The Fame Monster was actually good for her and I enjoyed it. BTW mostly backfired. I simply don't want that too happen again.

If everyone loves you when you try to stir a controversy and make a statement then you're doing something wrong. Born This Way was very effective, it started a discussion, people HAD to talk about it, whether it was negative or positive.

The only thing people talked about was the Express Yourself thing, and that lasted about a month. For the most part, the rest of the era was tertiary radio fodder.

There was actually quite a bit of controversy regarding the era, not the least of which included death threats from an Indonesian terrorist organization. The messages of equality and feminism on the album did actually get a lot of people talking and pissed a lot of people off. Even people in my area, most of whom aren't big fans of hers, regard her more highly in general than stars like Katy and Bieber for the messages and meaning she conveys through her music, whether they agree with said messages or not.

You need to get away from ATRL if you really believe that. The Express Yourself drama hardly got any attention here. The only people holding on to that straw are haters on ATRL + the person who claimed it was a rip-off of her song.

Gaga got a lot of international press this era, she helped get DADT repealed, she had meetings with Obama about homosexuality, he started to get informed and changed his opinion and now 12 states in the US are already allowing gay marriage. She became one of the most charitable and powerful people in the world, started the BTWFoundation, and tens of millions of people around the world love her. People claim the music sucked yet this tour did better than the Monster Ball on average and she broke several records on a WW scale. Born This Way has become iconic and is used in TV/film/music etc.

The BTW era was a mess IMO, but even I wouldn't go that far.

She had plenty of attention still, especially at like the Japan Video Music Awards/EMAs/etc.
