Will Mariah surpass Beatles 20 #1s record with her new album
she has 18 now.....she got only 1 number 1 from E=MC2 and 0 with Memoirs.........will she be able to get 3 number 1s from her new album to surpass the Beatles 20 number 1s?
or atleast 2 from the new album, then All I Want for Christmas is You can be the one that breaks the record in December 2013.............

I honestly hope so. Or at least hope after her death, some of her #2's climb to #1.
The Beatles are so undeserving of the record  the most overrated thing in the music industry I've ever seen

I doubt that she will get 2 more top 10s by the time she retires, let alone #1s.

I'm still pressed they got them 20 #1's, and they basically did no hard work earning them at all like everyone else.
They got 11 of their 20 #1's in 2 years alone, 6 one year, 5 another. If anyone has that much force to get 11 #1's in 2 years, clearly they were just big enough to the point where everything they released went #1 and it didn't have much of an effect/impact at the time (not saying their songs don't have impact at all).
But it took Mariah 18 years to get ha #1's, and I think the most she got in a year was 2/3. The Beatles got every one within a span of 9 years I think.
Edit: Their first U.S. #1 was 1962/1963 and their last was 1970. They were gone in full impact by the end of the decade.

Duca is right. Unless her mediocrity streak is broken, she won't be seeing another top 10 hit, let alone #1 .

I never said any of that wasn't impressive, but anyone who gets 11 #1's in 2 years may have them just based off star power.
Even if they did disband in 1970, that doesn't mean anything. Wikipedia says they have 27 Studio Albums, 4 Live Albums, 57 Compilation Albums, and 21 EP's. They had more music to go #1, so the fact you're trying to say they had so much star power then use the excuse they broke up for the reason their #1's stopped is a contradiction.

I love Mariah, but let's NOT act like she's bigger than the Beatles.
And the Beatles even had number 1's after they broke up when they released solo music.John Lennon had the most rememberable song of all time (Imagine) after breaking up with the Beatles.

It isn't impossible. She needs top notch material and major promo campaign. If she broke Elvis' record, she can break The Beatles. However, if her recent material is something to go by, then no.

What's your point? They DISBANDED at the end of the decade. They weren't suddenly unable to send songs to #1.
The biggest hit of their career was in '68-'69 and another one of their biggest hits came in '70. Their most successful albums were all released '67-'70.
Their impact gone in '70 while Mariah's extended 18 years?
Hello, they have the best-selling album of this century, released 31 years after they disbanded.

I can't at the pure ignorance and idiocy being spewed about the Beatles in this thread right now. Maybe if you read something about music history other than a Wikipedia article, you would understand why they're the most successful and beloved band of all time.
