A buzz track is controversy?
In that case, Run the World was pretty controversial....
I mean she used "n*ggas", "f you, pay me", and flipped the bird in the video...
So I don't see a big difference here.
Meaning this isn't anything new, meaning your argument falls flat.
I love Beyonce. Maybe your Rihanna bias is preventing you from seeing how Rih has impacted Bey's music and image.
You just said "Video Phone" wasn't ratchet.
What is this?
Shawty, what your name is?
Them hustlas keep on talkin'
They like the way I'm walkin'
You saying that you want me
So press record, I'll let you film me
On your video phone...
You know them G's, they be hollerin',
'specially them hot ones
Brooklyn, Atlanta, Houston to New Orleans
When they see me they be like, yo B let me call you
You breakin' my focus boy, you cute and you ballin'
Beyonce was talking about clubbing, checkin chicks, poppin bottles and ****ing while Rihanna was still learning how to send up SOS's. So let's not.
Yep no one can provide accurate receipts.
What I'M saying is -- Beyonce wasn't releasing ratchet songs at THAT magnitude until Queen Fenty opened the door for her. That's ALL I'm saying. Beyonce was not doing songs like that before to that extent -- if she WAS then the song wouldn't have been such a big deal in the first place.

!!!! I mean I don't understand how Bey's stans can actually try to argue with the navy on that "ratchet' thing. It makes no damn sense and I am not entertaining that stupidity.
Bey has done songs liek BD/IBO before, there is no reason to waste time with them.

Singing about phone sex like you have a speech impediment counts as ratchet now?
If you think "Diva" and "Video Phone" are along the lines of "Cockiness" and "Birthday Cake."

WHAT magnitude? She released 2 snippets? Thats a magnitude? Is it a WW single? No.
So you open up a general discussion and a poll, but you throughout the entire thread argue with anyone who doesn't agree with you and show extreme bias, cute

Now that you bring up Run the World, it always was a try hard attempt to cause some controversy. And no shade but we know what that turned out.
Remember when she cursed in the Telephone video? Remember how all of Atrl when nuts because Beyonce cursed? She just isn't seen in that light.
I don't think she should resort to controversy this era, the superbowl performance was good enough to get the public's attention in a good way. She doesn't need all this cursing.

Yes, video phone is ratchet, dirty, innuendo inducing and Diva is a cocky, braggadocio, **** talking song. Your point is being proven wrong over and over again. Go to sleep.

I mean who have her that title? Don't you know there is only one queen
