The upcoming hit single "22" leaves next. The song is about hanging out with her girl friends and falling in love with strangers. It's highlights come in its prechorus ("we're happy, free, confused and lonely at the same time") and a background vocal sarcastically asking "Who's Taylor Swift anyways? Ew." The song's low point is probably the fact that it exists it rips off a Max Martin produced Miranda Cosgrove song. I kinda hate this song, but I kinda love it in the "I know it's a stupid pop song, but it's so catchy it makes me feel good" kinda way.

"22" takes "I Almost Do" down with it. Numerous Taylor fans particularly fear that this song may be sent to country radio while "22" is on pop, but I personally hope they do. The song is about the instantly relatable desire to run to/ call somebody, but deciding not to. As is typical of an abundance of Taylor's songs, the song builds to an especially excellent bridge.

That song was weird to me at first, but it's SUCH a bop, and the lyrics are hilariously clever. Future classic tbh.

It was to be expected though. Certain people just can not appreciate fun. They think lyrics have to be wordy and serious in order to be good. And obviously anything with an overtly pop production is disposable trash.
