The thing with old movies aren't the effects imo.
I think they often come off as unintenionally funny/stupid from a modern point of view because they have such different structure than modern movies.
For example I watched Carrie for the first time yesterday and it was ok but the locker room scene seemed more funny than disturbing(which it was meamt to be)
They aren't the pits though
