X Factor Power
Samantha Jades gets her first #1 on the countdown with her Australian X Factor winning single What You've Done To Me, while another X Factor winner debuts this week. The 2011 X Factor UK winner Little Mix debuts at #39 with Wings. The song is supposed to be getting a US radio release on February 12, 2013. Cher Lloyd and One Direction, who were X Factor UK contestants the season before Little Mix get both of their fourth Top 20 hits. Cher previously went #1 with Want U Back and Oath, and Playa Boi had charted up to #14. With 1D, What Makes You Beautiful charted at #6, Little Things hit #17 and Rock Me peaked at #3. Kiss You and With Ur Love are both coming for the Top 10.

Carly Rae's second retire!
For the second week in a row, Carly Rae Jepsen has retired a song from the countdown as Your Heart Is a Muscle retires this weekend. It debuted and peaked at #1 after the Kiss album release on September 23, 2012. Just last week, Carly Rae Jepsen had retired the A List 40 #1 hit This Kiss, which peaked at the top in November 2012, the month of Carly Rae's 27th birthday. It's sadly one of the few places where it was successful as This Kiss flopped badly in the US. While I have grown to the love the song, it was definitely a bad single choice.

Bridgit returns, re-peaks, and retires
Bridgit Mendler also retires this week with Ready Or Not. The song originally debuted on August 19, 2012 peaking at #25 before falling off in November. However, after it was performed on The X Factor, Bridgit returned to my countdown where it reached a new peak of #15 before finally retiring this week. It is her first single to retire on my countdown. But as you can probably tell, I don't ***** her out like I do Miley, Demi or Selena. All three of those girls usually hit the Top 10 95% of the time. Bridgit has yet to get a Top 10. Maybe she will get one with Hurricane.

Well, I have good news for potentbreakupsong this week. Diamonds retires after spending 20 weeks on the chart, so he will never have to see that song again. In addition, since the song already won the October 2012 game of my A List 40, he won't see in the January or February 2013 editions of my game (or I Knew You Were Trouble for that matter).

Samantha Jade remains in the #1 spot while Britney Spears get her first Top 3 hit on this countdown with Scream & Shout. Carrie Underwood gains her second Top 5 hit after the #1 hit Blown Away, and Paramore is just one spot away from their first Top 5 hit on this countdown.

One Direciton's Kiss You is just outside the Top 10 with Kiss You at #11 and it looks like it will be going Top 10 next week.

Debuting this week is Olly Murs with Troublemaker at #32. Also debuting, which some people might find shocking, is Marina & The Diamonds with How to Be a Heartbreaker. I saw the music video for this song on MTV U at my college earlier this week, so I feel like this song has a slight chance to smash in the US. I guess you could say its a guilty pleasure since I'm not a Marina fan, and i'm certainly not a fan of her stanbase. Maybe I'll download this on Valentine's Day

Carly Rae Jepsen claims her sixth #1 on the countdown with Tonight I'm Getting Over You! It jumps up 10 spots after the video debuted on Friday! Her previous #1s were the 10 week #1 Call Me Maybe, Your Heart Is a Muscle, Turn Me Up, the four week #1 This Kiss and the remix of Curiosity.

Debuting this week is the 4Count with Snapback - which basically translates to it being a dirty song and I want all four of their D's

Taylor Swift retires with I Knew You Were Trouble after spending 20 weeks on the chart. Shocker? Not for me. I've been playing this song since it was a promo single and honestly, the song is more suited for Fall and Winter. I just couldn't see myself playing it in March that often so I knew it was time for IKYWT to retire! Also retiring is Havana Brown's You'll Be Mine. It is her second retirement after We Run the Night's retirement in October 2012. It is also her highest peaking song on the countdown reaching #3.
