This is definitely an album that reveals its age upon each and every listen. Outside of the singles not called “Bug A Boo”, there isn’t too much about this album to scream about. I will note just how far Beyoncé has come as a vocalist since 1999, however. Her tone has matured and her live performances aren’t so bogged down with unnecessary runs like they were on this album.

So Good – This song is a cute track about how the band continues to prosper in spite of naysayers. – 6.5
Bills, Bills, Bills – A blatant rip off of TLC’s hit “No Scrubs” but a damn good one. – 8.5
Confessions – It’s okay, nothing special, though. – 6
Bug A Boo – I’ve never liked this song. I hated it when it came out and now it sounds even more aged with its stuck in 1999 production and mentions of pagers. – 2
Temptation – I like this track. It rides along perfectly. It’s a bit typical, but then again so is almost every other song on this album. – 7.5
Now That She’s Gone – This song doesn’t deserve its full playing time. But it does give that 90s slow jam feel. I like. – 7
Where’d You Go – I love that downward run that Beyoncé does in this song, but other than that, it’s quite forgettable. – 6
Hey Ladies – Generic ass late 90s R&B. – 5
If You Leave – This sounds like something off of Never Say Never. Cute. – 7
Jumpin’ Jumpin’ – Typical R&B clubbanger. It’s good, but not quite great. – 8
Say My Name – Arguably DC’s signature song. Beyonce’s vocals really shine on this song, and this song’s appeal in 2013 is based not on nostalgia, but on the fact that it’s a great song. – 10
She Can’t Love You – Ehh. – 5.5
Stay – A bland torch song. – 5
Sweet Sixteen – A sweet number. I like the use of the acoustic guitar. – 8
