I wish I could find the article, but it was reported a few years back that Justin financed the majority of FS/LS himself because the label was worried about the songs he was making with Timbaland (mainly Sexyback), the time it was taking to complete the album, plus it was costly for them to pay for Tim to do the majority of the songs with his rate at the time. So basically I dont think it matters what label he's on, he can probably get a lot handled by himself at this point.
