The disrespect is in the generic brand. I mean, Deer Park, evian, smartwater or figi...or nothing else

I wonder what songs Nicki is going to sample for The Pinkprint. Sometimes I find the samples are the most exciting part.
Imagine Nicki doing a hip-hop track along the lines of Kanye's "Stronger"; sampling an electronic house track, but incorporating it into an urban track that balances both the dance/pop and hip-hop side of things. A track like that would be perfect for Nicki. A nice balance.

I'm looking at "Roman Holiday"s critical acclaim right now and the critics really enjoyed this track.
Quote:
"Roman Holiday" is pure theater, the closest hip-hop's gotten to its own "Bohemian Rhapsody," full of thrilling crescendos and twitchy verses that verge on the ridiculous, but always shift toward the triumphant.

Take the opening cut, “Roman Holiday.” When Minaj previewed this ditty on the Grammys back in February, her zany (some said blasphemous) theatrics obscured the originality of both the beat and of Minaj’s rapping attack.
On the disk, you can bask in her fitful, stuttering style — a manic cadence informed by its own grace. In the space of one track, Minaj mixes pitches and flows to create as much rhythmic surprise as a top comic.
Using the persona of Roman Zolanski — the most amped-up gay man imaginable — Minaj unleashes a great spew of profane humor. She matches that to vocal and percussive rhythms that meld a Trinidadian patois, a New York attitude and a Hindi-hip-hop bounce. Such a pan-cultural swirl shoots Missy Elliot’s brand of hip-hop surreality to the moon.

Nicki Minaj is a purist's nightmare. She doesn't just straddle pop categories, she dumps them in a Cuisinart, whips them to a frothy purée, then trains a guided missile at the whole mess. She is a rapper's rapper, a master of flow and punch lines, with skills to please the most exacting gatekeepers of hip-hop street cred. But she's a bubblegum starlet as well, delivering confections to the nation's mall rats. "I'm in the HOV lane," Minaj boasts on her second LP. It's true: She's one of the few performers who can rival Jay-Z's blend of artistic bona fides and sheer star power.
But Minaj is also in the Gaga lane, the Bowie lane, the Missy Elliott and Gary Glitter and Katy Perry and Betty Boop lanes. (By the sound of "Right by My Side" – a blustery duet with Chris Brown – she can cruise in the Jordin Sparks lane, too.) Then there's the Roman Zolanski lane. Roman Reloaded opens with Minaj – a biracial woman from Queens via Trinidad – ranting in the voice of her (Polish?) homosexual "twin brother" alter ego. In the same song, she takes on the voice of Martha Zolanski, Roman's mother, singing in a cartoon Cockney accent. "Take your medication, Roman," counsels Minaj/Martha. "Quack, quack to a duck and a chicken, too/Put the hyena in a freakin' zoo," answers Minaj/ Roman. Later, she bursts into "O Come, All Ye Faithful."

Also, the critics seemed to enjoy Nicki's balance of pop and hip-hop. Take this for example.
Quote:
Few artists in Minaj’s position would dare to take risks as bold as this, and yet, it doesn’t feel as though she even sees it as risky – she’s breezily doing her thing, and the weight of whichever labels are bestowed upon her is irrelevant. Whatever the supposed role of Nicki Minaj within the hip hop hierarchy, whatever box she’s pushed into, she’ll have a hard time fitting in. Because, above all else, PF: RR cements her as a truly unique entity.

Y'all act like PF:RR was critically panned when there were quite a few critics out there who enjoyed it.

The Grammy performance was amazing. That was the peak of my Nicki stanning, actually. I remember having a smile on my face for the rest of the day because of it. I have never been so proud of Nicki.
I'm a little upset that the track turned out so bland compared to the hopes I had from the performance. The acting/screaming Nicki did over the chorus in the performance was so good, but they were absent on the studio version, unfortunately.
The track still remains Nicki's most creative track to date.

I love Nicki. She is just so amazing. She always has that WOW-factor to me. No matter what she dresses in, there's always something to appreciate on her. Every inch of her being is such pure bliss and I don't understand how a woman can have this many emotions control me.
I just love her. Forever and ever. Nothing will ever make me stop loving her. Not even she can do that.
