I don't know why people here act like it's not a close race. Coming from a black person, it's obvious that they are both equally respected among the black crowd. Those who don't like them would just nitpick like they always do.

Both have equal amounts of respect (and hate) if you take a look at their stats on the R&B charts, their awards, how much praise they receive amongst black artists, their collaborations with black artists, etc. I don't really think one is ahead of the other.
I was posting examples of the negative things people say about BOTH artists and was trying to say that both get equal amounts of hate and that neither is more beloved than the other in the urban community. If you're going to hire mods here, at least make sure they know how to read and comprehend or at least hire some that's a bit fairer.
