I liked Chernobyl Diaries more than The Cabin in the Woods too. It's very suspenseful and not predictable. Aside from the visual effects and Jesse Williams' 5 seconds of showing his body, TCITW is not really that good. It's boring and not scary at all.

I'm not a big fan of ghost stories but even I could tell that movie sucked.
But the scene where the guy gets exposed with the camera was amazing

Yes, it is a good movie but nothing scary tho. It's just disturbing and creepy.
The part where the kidnapper is behind her watching her in the woods is so creepy,

Tell these idiots who actually think that Chernobyl Diaries is better than Cabin In The Woods... Hopefully you slapped some taste into them and I can't even remember that scene, thats how much impact the film had on my life

I think it is near average and I like a lot of elements of the film. However, the whole storyline just couldn't figure out what it wanted to tackle with, building up a strong mythology or focusing on main characters' misjudgments. The result form this is that it muddling through. As for scares, most the scares are well crafted but are predictable. And some scene is just borderline...... stage drama..... so cheesy and stale that drags the film's genuine tension and pace.

I love the old Evil Deads, but I'm a skeptic of the remake

What are your thoughts on the "A Nightmare On Elm Street" remake..?? Thats one of my favourite horror films. I love most of the remakes... maybe it's because I haven't seen the originals

I know you LOVE "A Nightmare On Elm Street" remake...... but to be honest with you.....I really don't like it.... I gave it a really low score after I've seen it in 2010 . I think the main reason for me to hate remake is because remakes often borrow too much from the originals, which make them indistinguishable and kinda life-less. On the case of "A Nightmare On Elm Street" remake, for me, its just a little bit too style over substance and too heavily borrow scenes from the past to make it lacks vibrancy.... And I think the other reason is because I've never been a big fan of "A Nightmare On Elm Street" series.....

But I'm really interested in what aspects do you think make it great ?

Obviously they borrowed certain things from the original... but I don't think they took too much from it. I like how they turned him into a paedo though, I thought that was a cleaver way to give him a reason to do what he does. I think they gave an overal better back story to the Freddy character. I like how they took out the stupid non-funny comedy elements from the original and made it a more serious film.

I do wish they had kept the original opening to the remake though as I read the script and it sounded amazing. I know they filmed it as well cause theres a brief clip of it up on youtube. I think partly why I liked it is cause I like most of the main cast (Thomas Dekker, Katie Cassidy, Kyle Gallner, Kellan Lutz) and they are all good actors.

One of my favorite Horror movies of all time, I even read the entire book, and this **** ain't light reading

I just hope they don't over gore it, and I would love to see some more scenes from the book as well
